Junger |
Jamie
is a seasoned singer songwriter who has toured extensively through
Canada and the States with the bands "Bob's Your Uncle," "The
Wingnuts" and "Holly MacNarland". He has shared the
stage with the likes of J.J. Cale, The Bare Naked Ladies, The Tragically
Hip and Holly Cole.
As
a native Bluenoser, Jamies
story is as spirited as his music. Jamie discovered
his artistry at the tender age of nine and
immediately began writing and performing his
own material. At the age of seventeen, while
his passion for music was strong, he chose
an unlikely but more anchored career. He joined
the Navy and moved to the West Coast. In his
two and a half year tour of duty he saw most
ports from Alaska to Mexico, all the while
honing his musical skills.
By
1980, James had sailed into the Vancouver music
scene with relative ease and soon had formed
the bands Bobs Your Uncle and The
Wingnuts. Both bands became local favourites
and their fan base spread quickly as they frequently
toured North America and enjoyed consistent
radio play. After fourteen years, the bands
had run their natural course and members went
in different directions. Jamie was soon recruited
by Holly McNarland to help record her debut
CD Sour Pie. Jamie was also busy
working on his own solo material. In 1998,
Jamie completed his proverbial full circle
when he returned home to the East Coast.
Back
home in Nova Scotia, James has been in demand
for live performances and has been busy recording,
teaching, writing and, of course, playing.

James Junger is a musical story-teller. His songs are poetically scripted and touch a chord in all, by celebrating everyday life and love. Jungers tales are laced with passion and humour - he sings of joy without being saccharin and of sentiment without wallowing.
His music is a fusion of the rich roots of traditional folk, the infectious energy of pop, the unpredictable direction of alternative, and his very own undeniable grooveability.
